Yes, the time when I injured my ankle a month back .A ligament injury as the doctor diagnosed and got a plaster /casting done on the left foot ankle.
The doctor said is anyone with you? I said yes,my brother why ? Is it going to pain or what during plastering.
He said no…but you need to take support because you can’t walk in a plaster. So,it’s going to be a one-leged days for me ,till a month.Thats too much!
Well, this being for a short period of rest.But my heart goes out to those who have a life with it.
The support sticks and wheel chair were just a temporary use but the very thought brought into mind the permanent usage of them by some,I can imagine for those people who have a life gifted with such a cause.
And who manages everything they do so comfortably accepting as capable enough to hold themselves even with such disabilities.
Now again, when the same foot gets another sprain accidentally. Visits the doctor and this time its two weeks rest with crepe bandage.
We should be grateful and thankful that we are fortunate enough in the state of using all our limbs.
I won’t say who is capable or incapable because in this age and with development of science and technology, no area is left where they cannot challenge.
We have seen people in athletic like paralympic where participants vary from a range of disabilities. Academics,art, science, culture,technology, research everywhere.
“Handicap or disability are just words.”
“Differently abled with so much of power.”
“I salute them for what they are.”
